Protest for unpaid bill: Bristol, England, 1762 September 27.

Sam Worrall, notary public, protests the refusal to pay a bill due to Farrell and Jones, Bristol, England, by Hale and Maddern. William Hale, apparently now deceased, and Robert Maddern, now in Virginia, incurred the bill on 1 May 1762 with George Thomas and it was endorsed over to Farrell and Jones. Hale's executor, John Coram, refused to pay. This document includes a copy of the original bill, the endorsement, and Worrall's account of its presentation for payment and subsequent refusal.
